Feeling and sharing Gratitude

by | Apr 27, 2020 | Beautiful Leadership, Open Leadership

Milne - Piglet noticed that even though he had a very small heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.

Yesterday morning I wrote “Mind the Awareness Gap” before going to the Emergency room to get tested for DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) in my leg.

Turned out I had been sat in my chair on countless zoom meetings etc over the early weeks of the lockdown and developed a small clot in my calf that then got worse. Am amused at myself and lack of physical awareness, literally hundreds of long haul flights and millions of miles in the air over the years and no such problem. Take forty plus zoom meetings a week for several weeks and boom, DVT.

Feeling so grateful and wanting to share that, particularly to the UK national treasure that is the NHS. Quietly calm and professional, caring and making a difference, as they always have done and always will. So, giving thanks to the receptionists, cleaners, porters, auxiliaries, nurses, doctors. Also to the TFL bus drivers.

Finally, also to all of us in the public acting with care and considerations for others now not because we are told to but because we choose to. Long may this community and collective spirit continue.

Thank you all. Now, other than the blood thinner tablets, it is back to the Zoom chair tomorrow, but getting up to move every hour and, when the Doctor allows, to walking and exercising 🙂

Do remember to be grateful and to share your gratitude with people for their actions.
