What’s in my bookcase?

bookcase

A happy Saturday to you, and so for today, a relaxed post for those of you who may wish to get more sense of me.

As I settle more and more into my new home, I recently did a little circular economy upcycling (bought a used bookcase and painted it!) and now have a home for a whole bunch of my books and various “stuff”. No, it is not my “zoom bookcase”, as it is to the side of my desk, not behind it, but it is arm’s length from me and I do like to know it is there. What’s in it, though? (some curious minds may want to know!)

Of course, there are various office and admin things on the hidden lower shelves, then the shelf above that has my old cameras back from the days when people used cameras. With the guidance of one of my uncles, I have got a few of my old cameras ready to go once again, and I intend to start using them once the winter draws in and the special sunlight of that time of year comes along.

Above that the next shelf has large format books as well as a picture by my mother, then the shelf above that is more books, with those stacked on the right-hand side being my current “dip into these and slow read” pile. Oh, and my clan crest with the motto “In Ardua Petit”. The top shelf, yup, more and more books, with the two small stacks nearest the glass being books I pick up and re-read or just do into often. Oh, and a hairbrush (though I have not enough hair to warrant such a thing!) that I inherited from my great-grandfather, plus my old personalised numberplate from Cayman with the aspirational word “Inspire”.

If you see a book that intrigues you in any way, feel free to drop me a note, or even search the site as a number of these books I have written about. Oh, and a tip, go to Google and type “site:tommccallum.com” then your search term and it will give you results from the over 2,000 posts on the site. That is actually how I search it myself!
