Today I had a mentoring call with a senior leader now seeking to strike out on their own as an independent. After listening to them for some time, we had a few themes to talk about. Whilst doing so, I wove in some thoughts (and a framework I use for this) around how they can make it easier and faster to build their business. This has set me to think about different areas in work and life where we can make it easier and faster for ourselves.
Two days ago, in “Joy from accepting support“, I wrote about how I have invested a few thousand in an e-bike I can now use to make it “easier and faster” to ride in the hilly area I live in. Beyond “easier and faster”, though, the new bike opens up a range of additional possibilities for me by knowing that I have at hand the support I need to get me up difficult hills. I can now stretch myself further and try new routes, as I know the bike will support me. My possibilities and opportunities have expanded.
In my work, clients bring me in to help them with brave and massive change. I make it easier and faster for them, and at the same time, knowing that they have my support, they can find new possibilities and opportunities for themselves and their organisation.
As I noted earlier this year on this blog, I am “temporarily closed to new business”, but please do contact me anyway if you feel that now or in the near term you could benefit from someone who can make your own work easier, faster and more full of possibilities and opportunities. We can start a conversation and we may be able to work together in the future, or I may be able to recommend someone for you to connect with, or simply we can take time to help you talk through the opportunities and challenges you see.
Go to my site and book a Zoom call with me (for October, I’m largely off the grid for most of the next few weeks), I will seek in some way to help you make things easier and faster!
