Flow – Michael Jordan and Jason Silva

by | Dec 16, 2017 | Energy, Open Leadership

SPORT NBA BASKETBALL

In 1992, Michael Jordan, not renowned as a long distance shooter, hit an amazing six 3 point shots in the first half of an NBA Finals game, then this famous photo caught him shrugging to his bench as if to say “don’t ask me what is happening”

In 2004, Mikhail Csikszentmihalyi gave his now legendary TED talk on Flow.

I am fascinated (links to prior posts) ” by Doing from Being, by Presence, by Flow, by Ikigai, by Innsaei, by all the ways in which we can BE who we are. With an overarching theme for my writing of #OpenLeadership, self-knowledge and self-awareness allow us to BE leaders, not to “DO” leadership.

Linked to Presence and Flow is the choice to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone into the unknown and have the resilience, the stoicism to recover from challenges and elevate as you journey on. More and more writing to come on those themes, search the site for those keywords over time for more.

Now, who is Jason Silva ? He defies description, but to me he is the one best reasons to be on Facebook as his “shots of awe” are “flow in action”, energy in motion. Try this few minutes on “hacking flow”:
