Loving complexity allows others to find their solutions
Today am sharing a learning around my work, one that may be valuable to readers in their leadership and their support of others.
These wise words came from a friend and peer mentor in one of our regular sessions recently. I was discussing a gradual shift I’ve observed in where I focus my work as a Sounding Board, which they then captured in two areas, one of which was Loving Complexity.
They then noted that my loving complexity allows others to find their solutions.
What they meant by that was not that I talk about complexity and get into detail, when in fact the opposite is my typical approach. I listen deeply to the problems that face leaders working in complex adaptive systems (such as a business or organisation of any scale), and then I have developed the ability (through years of curiosity and practice) to distil all of the variables and elements down to some simple insights.
I love complexity and so listen for what is at the heart of the problem a client talks about, which then always seems to help them find their solutions to whatever problem is vexing them and their business.
