Mentality of success, not survival
Sometimes a line really catches my attention when I listen to a song lyric, watch a movie, or read a book, poem, or article.
Last week I was looking into the latest from a company I backed at the seed stage via equity crowdfunding, Peckwater Brands, who provide virtual brands to restaurants with unused capacity (eg quiet times during the evening/week) in their kitchens where they can provide “virtual” branded food to sell via delivery services.
The hospitality industry has been under huge pressure in recent years, particularly during the Covid pandemic, so it takes both commercial ability and a growth mindset (per the image above and the work of Carol Dweck (see this earlier post), or, as Sam Martin of Peckwater Brands puts it:
Mentality of success, not survival
With planning, resourcefulness and discipline, hospitality businesses should be able to aspire towards success, not just survival….
…Time and again, cafés, bars and restaurants have shown resilience and ingenuity to overcome obstacles and hard times. With the right mentality and approach, hospitality businesses can return to being a cornerstone of the economy and a source of pride for communities.
A powerful message for any business needing top adapt to succeed!
