Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small does not serve the world
from the passage “Our Deepest Fear” by Marianne Williamson
We all, in some shape or form, “play small”, and limit our possibilities, as Marianne Williamson challenges us to recognise in her words above.
Are you running a business that is doing “ok”, or perhaps you are even doing “well”, but at the same time, you know in your heart and in your mind that you could lead the business to do far more, be far more, scale far more?
If this is you, I have one question for you today. What gives you the right to play small?
The model above is my “Scale for Impact” model, an evolution I made of the “triple bottom line”, the key difference being that the new model puts Purpose first, not Profit. At the same time, though, it still puts a critical focus on profit, as the more profit you make, the more impact you can have, hence “Scale for Impact”.
How much impact do you make? How much more impact could you make if you chose to reach the full potential of yourself and your business?
My own Purpose is simple, it is #MakingPotentialPossible. Those who match with me to work together are ready for that.
I leave you now with a clip from the wonderful movie Coach Carter, where he has consistently challenged a group of inner-city kids to, through the high school Basketball team, play bit, not play small.
