Above all, do not lose your desire to walk. Every day, I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts. ~ Soren Kierkegaard
Hi, I’m back after a few days of “Total Relaxation” in Madeira.
One of the thoughts I let sit with me is this quote from Kierkegaard. I love to walk, either on my own or with others. Walking is great in so many ways, including talking things through with someone else. I’ll be back in London in mid-February, if you’d like to “walk and talk”, let me know.
Between now and then, though, next week I will be in Cayman. Am SO looking forward to being home to see and work with clients (in person, for a change!) and of course to fill the diary with seeing as many family and friends as I can.
Reflecting on my recent trip, though, one of the things I love about Madeira is that it has many similarities to Cayman:
- Madeira is part of Portugal but has a distinct identity.
- Madeirans are, like their island, warm and friendly.
- Madeira is small but is world-class in some areas that the wider world does not recognise it for.
I could go on, but each of these also applies to Cayman, something I feel quite viscerally now as I am stuck in the English property sale system, which is so, so poor in comparison to the world-class one that Cayman has!
Anyway Cayman I soon come!
PS I feel I may pause daily posts now again until I get back from Cayman, leaving time and space to be present for the many people I will meet up with.
