In amongst random musings and connecting of dots, into which occasionally I look to inject some leadership learnings, thoughts and even (perhaps) wisdom, sometimes I simply take the time in my daily post to give you a moment of zen, so this Sunday, here we are, my gift of a peaceful moment to you.
Last Friday afternoon I found myself with the time and space to walk to the top of the hill in time to watch the sun set behind the next valley. As I arrived there, it seemed that I might not see the sunset at all, as the clouds had dropped really low, very close indeed to the hill ridge just to the West of me. I did find it truly peaceful though, so stayed still for a few minutes to take everything in, including turning and looking around to the East.
However, as I looked East, a few minutes later the houses in that direction were bathed in a golden glow. I turned back to the West, and there it was, the sun had dropped and found the gap below the clouds and above the hill ridge. I stood stock still and watched, moment by moment, as the sun dropped below the horizon. As that happened, this Caymanian boy was taken right back to innumerable occasions watching the sun set into the Caribbean, the moments felt somehow connected,
Moments of Zen can be found quite simply and easily when we choose to do so. Perhaps a walk, listening to a favourite passage of music, a book, or even simply sipping a cup of coffee or tea. May you take time for your own moment of zen today.
