Writing this on a rainy morning, chilling out the day before five weeks of seemingly non-stop travel begins.
I’ve just been listening to one of my favourite tracks of all time, one that sounds so, so rich when played analogue rather than digital, “New Grass” by Talk Talk, from the album “Laughing Stock”.
My thanks to Guy Garvey of Elbow (one of the ultimate Talk Talk fans, and who did a wonderful BBC special (no longer available online, unfortunately) on Talk Talk’s greatest album, Spirit of Eden. then went on to say that, despite the majesty of that album, his favourite ever track was from their final album, and it was “New Grass”.
Later today the weather is forecast to clear, so will head off to some vintage LP shops to hunt for new additions to the collection, then have a quite night before heading to the airport in the morning. Until tomorrow…
