Think Feel Know is one of the most powerful indicator tools I have ever worked with
At the moment I am selling my house and looking to buy a new one. I have two houses I am considering, both tick all (or almost all) the boxes, but I find myself thinking and rethinking which one is the best choice. Both are lovely, but the price difference between them is over 20%, such that one is well within budget, but has some limitations, but the other is right up at the top of the budget range.
I am “hemming and hawing” around the balance between “investment” and “home”. To be honest, I would be happy with either, and my instinct is not telling me what to do.
This is odd to me, as the choice of housing tends to be one of those areas where, when all is said and done, we go on instinct. It certainly seems to have been the case for the people who have confirmed an offer on my current house. They viewed it once, loved it, and put in a good offer which was enough for me to accept pretty much right away. They went on instinct.
I may or may not choose to buy one or other of the two properties I am looking at, but if instinct isn’t telling me strongly to make a choice of one of them over the other, perhaps that is also telling me something.
Oh, and as to leadership and business learnings, this links strongly back to “Think Feel Know”, one of the most powerful indicator tools I have ever worked with (and I have worked with and been trained on many, including MBTI, DISC, Insights, Strengthsfinder).
When I teach the concept of “TFK” to people, when I come to taking about decisions made in a “Knowing” space, I often refer to how we make decisions on buying a house, as so many of us can recall being instinctive about it when, ofter after a long search for the perfect house, we arrive at the next house and often decide “this is the one” before even walking inside, else after just a few moments inside the house.
I highly recommend to all my clients to take the TFK indicator and in fact the whole suite of four Compass indicators. For more information on them all, visit the Compass site.
