Love is the absence of fear.
Thanks today to Ed Dowding on Twitter for this prompt, his answer to the question “What is Love” being “the Absence of Fear”.
One key personal development tool I live by and teach is the distinction between living in the Fear Paradigm as opposed to the Love Paradigm.
When we sit in Fear:
- we are driven by ego
- we often feel we have no choice
- we are reactive to events
- we feel the need to control ourselves and others
- we see scarcity and so do not share with others
In the absence of fear, we live in the Love Paradigm:
- we are driven by purpose, not ego
- we know we always have a choice we are self-responsible
- we are able to respond, we are “response-able”
- we do not control, we trust
- we see abundance, not scarcity
Which one do you wish to live in?
Oh, and as I enter the last 14 days of my chemo and the final days of my five-month health journey through colon cancer, my self-awareness around this has been massively supportive to me, and so through how I have responded, to those around me who could otherwise be more impacted by my journey.
