A few days ago I had something of priority drop into my diary and it meant I had to cancel/postpone/shuffle a few things. Being the efficient person I am, I got right on that and rejigged my diary accordingly between that afternoon and the next morning. Within an hour of doing all of that though, that priority thing was delayed by about two weeks. Oops.
In hindsight I didn’t need to rush to make all those changes, they could easily have waited a couple of working days, but hey, I wanted to get all my “ducks in a row”.
Now, through my speed of action, I now have to shuffle everything back, some of which will be a hassle and additional cost, not to mention time to me and the other people who I had to work with to “shuffle”.
A reminder to self that sometimes it is useful to pause before acting.
