Yesterday I had a wonderful LunchClub conversation that ranged widely. As I listened, I realised that I could connect that person with numerous individuals from outside their existing networks with whom they could explore further on various topics.
Earlier this week I also caught up with a friend and past guest on #WhatComesNextLive, Ben Brabyn. One topic Ben is thinking a lot about is how people connect and the power of those connections. I’ve asked him to come back on #WhatComesNextLive early in 2022 to explore that in conversation.
One thing the 70+ guests on #WhatComesNextLive have is that they are all curious. Curious about people, curious about ideas, curious about connecting the dots (often related to what neuroscientists call “pattern matching”).
If you are interested in connecting to new people and are open to what that might look like (ie not transactional but open to possibilities), talk to someone you know is innately curious. They will listen to what is on your mind, then often find someone to connect you to.
In closing, I also believe in creating space for serendipity, so, inspired once again by Chip Conley‘s idea of Emotional Equations, how about this?:
