“The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve, but a reality to experience”
From Dune, by Frank Herbert
I love Dune, the book is one of my all-time favourites, epic does not say enough. I’ve written about it before, including this recent post: “Trust is greater than fear. Fear is the Mind-Killer.” Last week I saw the movie “Dune Part One” and it is indeed Part One, it takes us about halfway through the book. To say it was epic is not enough, this review distils it beautifully:
I highly recommend reading the book before you watch the movie, but if not, perhaps take the approach I did. Having anticipated the movie for so long, I sat and simply was present to the wonder of seeing it for the first time. Let it flow over you. Take in the plot and the clues as to what comes next, but most of all, make it “a reality to experience”.
