There is nothing like when a wee baby smiles up at you, nothing at all.
The purity of a tiny child is something to behold. It makes me think of love, and fear.
Babies cry, sure, but for only three reasons. Cold, wet, hungry. They are not born with the ability to be angry, fearful, sad or express any other such emotions.
Babies are born with only one fear, the fear of falling. They have no other fears, only love.
Babies are pure and all about love.
Adults are full of fears and sometimes forget to come from a place of love.
What changes, then, between our birth and adulthood?
Simple. We teach children to be fearful. We teach them. Us as parents and other responsible adults, we drive our fears into children.
As adults, then, we often spend many years seeking to unlearn those learned fears.
Teach young children more love, less fear.
Herendeth today’s lesson, and thank you to my wee nephew for inspiring such thoughts in me today!
