“The quality of our decisions depends on the quality of the conversations we have”
Bruce Lloyd, in our recent WhatComesNextLive conversation
As I note on the page for our conversation (linked above): “Dr. Bruce Lloyd is Emeritus Professor of Strategic Management at South Bank University. He and I met at the RSA one day with a vibrant discussion on the meaning of Wisdom. Bruce particularly has a focus on “the relationship between Leadership, Wisdom, Knowledge Management and Organisational Performance.” I look forward to talking with Bruce and gaining insights from this sage individual.”
Our thirty-minute conversation was everything I hoped for, and then towards the end, Bruce said the sentence in quotes above.
I responded with a definition of wisdom I often use: “Wisdom is something concise that, when you hear it, you feel that you have always known it”.
Once again:
The quality of our decisions depends on the quality of the conversations we have
So, what makes a quality conversation? Today is about sharing that concise wisdom as a provocation to bring awareness to the thought. I shall give only one thought, then, and it is in pictorial form, in the choice of the picture I selected to accompany today’s post.
