Slow it down, Angie come back to bed
Slow it Down – The Lumineers
Rest your arms, and rest your legs
A three day weekend here. I’ve chosen to slow it down this weekend, plus to simplify.
No planning, no lists of things to do. Summer has belatedly arrived here in London, so already I’ve taken two random walks, decadently indulged in wine and cheese at lunchtime at a favourite spot, and yesterday strolled to a new coffee shop. Nothing was planned, all of it taken at a decadently slow pace. As I post this on Monday morning, I have no plans for today either. Bliss.
Now, treat yourself, watch this performance of Slow it Down by The Lumineers. I first heard this song when I saw them live with 20,000 other people in London on 27th November 2019. The set-up is as spare and simple as can be, simply two musicians standing at the front of the stage, one acoustic guitar, two mics, one kick drum, one tambourine. It is a slow song that gradually builds. It gave me goosebumps all over as they built it to the end.
