As regular readers will know, I’m part of a community that is building to create and bring forth transformative leadership programmes under the theme of Beautiful Leadership, inspired by the writings and ideas of Alan Moore of Beautiful Business.
This week a group of three of us were working on shaping ideas collected so far into an early form of that programme. In addition to designing the modules and themes for the programme, we also looked at ideas for elements within the programme and modules.
One of these was coined as: Crucible Moments
A crucible is a container to hold one or more elements at high heat.
In the context of the design of a programme for transformative leadership, then, the role of the programme design and the facilitators is to create and hold the “container” for one or more participants to have an experience through which they are transformed, shifted.
Transformation is not achieved through training, rationality, presenting tools and ideas to use in your leadership, your business.
No, transformation comes through such crucible moments.
I’m loving the emergence of the beautiful community and in early 2019 we will be ready to share the Beautiful Leadership programme and bring forth partners, faculty and participants for our inaugural launch programme !
